What is a 'Brand?'
Your brand is your voice. It’s the things about you—what you do, what you say, how you say it—that make you unique. It’s the story you tell, with each stream, each tweet, each stick of interaction with your audience. See, it’s easy to get bogged down in the many, many little things that go into executing on that story, your logos, your emotes and badges, your profile pictures and banners, and that can be overwhelming. But, piece by piece, each is really just another manifestation of that same narrative, the story of who you are and what you do.
Why is this all so important? Well, the truth is, regardless of whether you’re aware of it, you already have a brand. Mindful or otherwise, your identity, as reflected through your interactions with your audience, is something that naturally emerges over time, whether you like it or not. Being aware of it, knowing what you want to communicate, and how to communicate, is one of the ways you can go from amateur to professional. A strong, well defined brand makes for better content, more focused, more compelling, and, more importantly, it creates a more defined experience around your content, a stronger sense of identity not just for you, but for your audience, and the community that builds up around them. Without that attention paid to the things that make you unique, you’ll just fade into the crowd.
How do you figure out what defines your voice? Your brand? What goes into executing on that identity to create the strongest platform for your content possible? Continue on to through the course for all the ins and outs.
